All About the Diploma Course for Credit Union & mutual Building Society Directors

The CUNA Mutual ADI Directors' Diploma Course provides the required level of training and education considered essential for a credit union or mutual building society director to competently discharge their duties in the current business and regulatory environment.

The seven module course is specially tailored to the unique role of the credit union or mutual building society director delivering a balance between the mutual ADI philosophy, regulatory requirements and the business expectations. It involves a flexible program design containing a mixture of self directed study, four course weekend workshops spread over a 12 month period and four Director Evidence Workbooks linked to the workshops to guide you through the competency assessment requirements.

The AMInstitute's Diploma Course is open to all credit union and mutual building society directors and to credit union and building society managers (Level 1 and 2) as well as prospective directors and provides a qualification in the form of a nationally accredited Diploma in Financial Services (Credit Union or Building Society Directorship) within the Australian National Qualifications framework.

The Diploma Course Guide (Version 2009) provides detailed information about the course curriculum and the requirements for gaining the qualification. Click here to download a copy or contact the Burwood Office and have one mailed to you.

The 4 x Director Evidence Workbooks guide course participants through the competency assessment process where there are designated units of competence linked into each workbook which in turn is linked into specific Modules within the Diploma Course. Flexibility is the key in terms of the options for completing the Diploma Course. There is scope for a person to choose to register by the module maybe completing one or two course weekend workshops in a yearly cycle and thereby spreading the full diploma course out over two or three years. Others register only for the modules in which they have a specific need or interest.  Naturally one needs to complete the full course to gain the optimum educational benefit.

The following Diploma Courses are scheduled for delivery over the coming year:
