AMInstitute Membership Categorisation System – Rules for Re-grading / Upgrading
AMInstitute members seeking a re-grade of their current membership status or categorisation (ie. a re-grade from Member to Associate Fellow or Associate Fellow to Fellow), should refer to the following categorisation rules:

Fellow
|
A minimum of 15 years experience as a credit union/building society director or manager; or
a minimum of 5 years in the membership grade of Associate Fellow (AFAMI); or
a minimum of 2 years in the membership grade of Associate Fellow (AFAMI) & a minimum of 3 year as a credit union/building society chief executive (or equivalent) or credit union chairman; or
a minimum of 5 years experience as a credit union/building society director or manager, incl time in the membership grade of Member (MAMI) & successful completion of the Diploma of Financial Services FNS04 (Credit Union Directorship) or recognised degree/ postgraduate diploma from an accredited educational institution.

A minimum of 10 years experience as a credit union/building society director or manager, incl time in the membership grade of Member (MAMI); or
5 years experience as a credit union/building society director or manager, incl time in the membership grade of Member (MAMI) & a minimum of 1 year as a credit union/building society chief executive (or equivalent) or credit union/building society chairman

Upon assuming the office of credit union/building society director; or
Upon appointment in a functional area of management in a credit union/building society with decision-making powers that affect the objectives of the mutual ADI.
